Portugal ran out of players in doubles draw
Tough day for the portuguese players in the doubles variant of Millennium Estoril Open. João Sousa, João Domingues and the 100% national duo Frederico Gil and Tiago Cação were all dispatched this Wednesday.
Competing alongside his friend Leonardo Mayer, João Sousa didn't make it through the clash against the brits Luke Bambridge and Jonny O'Mara: 6-2 and 6-1 was the final result.
Frederico Gil and Tiago Cação came up to fill the vacancy left by injured John Millman and his partner Yoshihito Nishioka. The portuguese duo lost to Marcus Daniell and Wesley Koolhof 6-3, 3-6 and 10-4.
Despite booking his place in the singles quarter-finals for the first time in his career just a few hours before, João Domingues, aided by Pedro Martinez, bumped into Pablo Cuevas and Jean-Julien Rojer, also in the match tie-break, 6-2, 3-6 and 10-6.
