Carreño Busta downs Ferrer en route to final

Pablo Carreño Busta knocks out David Ferrer in straight sets and makes the Millennium Estoril Open final for the second year in a row.

In an all-Spanish semi-final the first seed and ATP 21.º defeated his most experienced countryman 6-3 6-3 in a hard-fought match on Estádio Millennium.

Carreño Busta who enjoys great success in Estoril – has a tally of 10 wins in the three editions of the Portuguese ATP250 so far – was consistent throughout the whole match, saving the sole break point he faced during the one hour and 22 minutes encounter.

The 25-year-old Spaniard will fight for the trophy for the second straight year. In 2016 he lost the title to his compatriot Nicolas Almagro. This time however he’ll either face South African Kevin Anderson or Gilles Muller from Luxembourg.
