Muller halts Sousa in "Presidential" match in Estoril
Gilles Muller is through to the quarter-finals of Millennium Estoril Open with a solid straight sets win (6-3, 6-2) over Portuguese wildcard Pedro Sousa.
With the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in attendance the Luxembourgian third seed, who got a bye in the first round, used his strong serve to get the upper hand in is debut match on Estádio Millenium, consistently serving above 200km/h and totaling 8 aces. The 33-year-old saved all the four serve points he faced and sealed the win in 67 minutes.
Looking for his second title of the year – and of his career – Muller will next face the winner of the duel between qualifier Bjorn Fratangelo and Japanese Taro Daniel.
