David Ferrer storms into the semis
Fourth seed David Ferrer produced a dominant performance and defeated American Ryan Harrison in straight sets to qualify for the semi-finals of Millennium Estoril Open.
The spaniard, enjoying his most successful week since the Australian Open, needed just 71 minutes to dismiss Harrison 6-4 6-0 in a one-sided affair. Ferrer saved all the three break points he faced in the match, while Harrison, who benefited from a walkover in the previous round due to the withdrawl of Juan Martin del Potro, was unable to find solutions to trouble his more experienced opponent. In his first semi-finals since Vienna last October Ferrer will face compatriot Pablo Carreño Busta. It will be the second matchup between the spanish pair with 35-year-old Ferrer being the winner of their previous encounter in the green grass of Wimbledon.
"It was tough. In the first set there was just the one break and it was not easy but in the second set I started well and he fell apart. This is my second win here and I feel ready for tomorrow. I'm happy to be in the semi-finals of another ATP World Tour tournament", said David Ferrer
